Pittsfield 6, Quebec 5

With the bases loaded and one out in the ninth, Pittsfield plated the tying and winning runs on back-to-back singles from Matt Nandin and Danny Bomback to take Game 1 of the Can-Am League Championship Series 6-5. Pittsfield got on the board first in the second on an Angel Molina solo homer and a two-run triple from Quentin Davis. Quebec struck back in the fourth, however, with a three-run home run from Pete LaForest to tie the game up. Quebec added two more in the sixth to bring the game to 5-3, but Pittsfield got one back in the seventh and rallied off of Capitales closer Andrew Albers in the ninth to setup the walkoff win. Juan Padilla earned the victory for Pittsfield, and the Colonials bullpen delivered 3.1 shutout innings of relief. The two teams meet again in Pittsfield Wednesday night at 6:00 PM for Game 2. Dan Sausville will draw the start for Quebec opposite Pittsfield's Miguel Flores.
