Sussex 1B Kris Sanchez kickstarted the offense with a three-run homer in the first, and the Skyhawks continued to add on in an 8-5 win over Worcester. The Sanchez homer, followed by RBI singles by LF Kraig Binick and C Anthony Sosnoskie in the next two innings, helped Sussex build an early 6-1 lead. A solo homer by Worcester DH Nick Salotti helped the Tornadoes claw back to within one run off of Sussex starter Jeff Icenogle, but two Sussex relievers shut the door with 3.1 scoreless innings. And for good measure, Sosnoskie and CF Carl Loadenthal tacked on RBI hits in the late innings to build a sizeable cushion.
