Quebec 10, Brockton 1 (Game 1)

A six-run second inning propelled Quebec to a 10-1 rout in game 1 of a doubleheader, which began Wednesday night and was halted due to rain in the bottom of the fourth. 1B Pete LaForest hit his first home run of the season and drove in three, adding a walk for the Capitales, and CF Sebastien Boucher went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a walk. RHP Karl Gelinas picked up the win with three solid innings of relief in the seven-inning contest. Quebec RHP Dan Sausville struck out seven and allowed just six baserunners in his start, firing four shutout innings of work. CF Chris Valencia knocked in the lone Rox run with an RBI single in the seventh before getting thrown out at second base to end the contest.

Quebec 2, Brockton 0 (Game 2)

LHP Troy Cate tossed eight shutout innings for the Capitales as they took both games of their doubleheader with Brockton. He allowed five singles and a walk while striking out four. 3B Michael Thompson went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Quebec, and LHP Andrew Albers picked up his tenth save of the season, lowering his ERA to a microscopic 0.84 while striking out two in a perfect inning of work. DH Jeff Hanson went 2-for-3 from the nine spot in the losing effort for Brockton.

New Jersey 7, Sussex 6

RF Kevin Clark knocked an RBI single in the tenth inning to break a 6-6 tie, and RHP Romas Hicks picked up his thirteenth save of the year by striking out the side in the bottom half of the frame to secure a 7-6 New Jersey win. DH Caleb Stewart knocked a three-run home run in the third for the Skyhawks, and Sussex took a six-run lead into the fifth, but the Jackals stormed back with seven unanswered runs over the rest of the game. LF Jacob Butler walked three times and blasted a two-run homer for New Jersey to tie the game at 6, and CF Adam Godwin laced a bases-clearing triple.

Worcester 9, Pittsfield 4

RF Billy Cather doubled, tripled, and walked three times, and 3B Mark Minicozzi drilled a three-run shot in Worcester's 9-4 defeat of Pittsfield. RF Daniel Carte and 2B Quentin Davis each had three-hit games for Pittsfield in the loss. C Craig Maddox and 1B Chris Colabello both notched two RBI for the Tornadoes. RHP John Kelly improved to 8-2 with a 2.66 ERA on the season, spinning five innings of one-run ball.
