3B Chris Colabello's RBI double in the top of the seventh inning snapped a 4-4 tie and carried Worcester to a 6-4 victory over Sussex. The Tornadoes got homers from DH Carlos Sosa and C Alex Trezza in the game and a 3-for-4 performance from 2B Jeff Lahair to power their offense. LF Vinny Pennell turned in a solid game from the leadoff spot finishing 2-for-5 with two runs scored and CF Lucas Taylor added two hits as well. Worcester starter Ryan Lobban worked six innings and struck out four while allowing three earned runs. He got the win and improved to 7-3 on the season.

Brockton 5, New Hampshire 4

After rallying from an early 4-0 deficit, Brockton scored a run to win the game in the bottom of the ninth inning when CF Chris Valencia jarred the ball from New Hampshire catcher Zane Chavez in a collision at home plate. Valencia came home from second on a single to left field by Jud Thigpen and knocked Chavez on his back and the ball to the turf to give the Rox the win. The single by Thigpen was his third hit of the night. Brockton LF Keith Brachold homered and finished 2-for-3 with two RBI. Keith Noe picked up the win in relief for the Rox. Starter Craig Anderson went 6 1/3 innings and struck out 10.

The scheduled game between Quebec and New Jersey was postponed due to rain. It will be played as part of a doubleheader Sunday, July 26th beginning at 11:05 AM.
