Sussex County 4, Quebec 3
Jarred Mederos' RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning capped off a two-out, two-run rally to give Sussex County a 4-3 walk-off win over Quebec. The Capitales tallied a run in the top of the eighth to grab a 3-2 lead but saw it slip way in the ninth as they could not get the final out to secure the victory.
Mederos went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI while Martin Figueroa launched a home run in three official at-bats along with two runs and a run batted in. Sussex County had nine total hits in the contest with eight batters collecting at least one.
Miners pitcher Matt Kostalos tossed 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief and notched his second win with the team. Kostalos gave up a pair of hits in the seven batters that he faced.
Kalian Sams, Maxx Tissenbaum and Adam Ehrlich each chipped in two hits apiece for Quebec.
Rockland 10, New Jersey 2
It was all Rockland in this contest as they rolled past New Jersey by the score of 10-2. After a scoreless first inning of play, the Boulders took control scoring all 10 of their runs over the next four innings and cruising to an easy win.
The Boulders pounded out 15 hits in the contest with four batters having multi-hit outings. Rylan Sandoval went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs while Conrad Gregor contributed three hits in four at-bats along with a run scored, two stolen bases and two RBIs. Kevin Krause and JC Rodriguez also chipped in two hits apiece for Rockland.
Boulders starting pitcher David Palladino tossed six shutout innings and earned his fifth win of the year. Palladino allowed a walk and three hits while striking out four hitters in an 85-pitch performance.
For the Jackals in the loss, Connor Hofmann had a 2-for-5 game with two RBIs.
Trois-Rivieres 6, Ottawa 2
After two scoreless innings of action, Trois-Rivieres tallied all six of their runs over the next three innings to grasp control of the contest and defeat Ottawa by the score of 6-2. With the victory, the Aigles now have a four-game lead over New Jersey in the race for the fourth and final playoff spot.
Sam Dexter led the way offensively going 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and an RBI. Alberth Martinez scored two runs and drove in two in a 1-for-4 night while Michael Suchy chipped in a pair of RBIs and went 1-for-4.
Trois-Rivieres starter Chris Murphy allowed an earned run over seven innings of work to pick-up his league tying 11th win of the year. Murphy gave up three walks and five hits while fanning four batters in a 107-pitch effort.
For the Champions in the losing effort, Vincent Guglietti and Michael Hungate each launched solo home runs.
