New Jersey 4, Rockland 1 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

New Jersey scored single runs in the four of the first five innings and defeated Rockland by the score of 4-1 in game one of a doubleheader.

The Jackals had nine total hits with seven of the nine batters in the lineup collecting at least one. New Jersey LF Connor Hofmann went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and an RBI while 3B Seth Spivey and C Andy Mocahbee each had a hit in two at-bats and scored a run. First baseman Daniel Canela also chipped in a pair of hits and a run batted in for the Jackals.

New Jersey pitcher Jose Velez tossed two scoreless innings of relief to pick-up the victory. Velez struck out three and walked two in his 32-pitch performance. The southpaw is now 3-1 on the year.

For the Boulders, 2B Cody Regis went 1-for-2 with a run scored.

Rockland 7, New Jersey 0 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

Rockland jumped out to a 5-0 lead after an inning of play and would cruise from there to beat New Jersey, 7-0, and gain a split in the twinbill.

The Boulders had nine hits in the contest and was led by leadoff hitter JC Rodriguez who went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and an RBI. Rockland DH Marcus Nidiffer had three hits in four at-bats along with a run and an RBI while LF Kevin Krause drove in a pair of runs and went 1-for-3. Third baseman Matt Dacey also contributed his second home run of the season for the Boulders.

Rockland starting pitcher David Palladino threw an eight-hit complete game shutout and earned his second victory of the season. Palladino fanned six and walked three in the 103-pitch effort.

For the Jackals in the losing effort, 1B Daniel Canela had a 2-for-2 game with a walk.

Sussex County 11, Quebec 7

Sussex County defeated Quebec for the fourth straight time as they downed the Capitales, 11-7. The Miners rolled out to a 7-0 lead after three innings of play and withstood a late Quebec rally to win their 46th game of the season.

The 4-5-6 hitters of 2B Mikey Reynolds, 1B Audy Ciriaco and CF Jayce Ray led the offensive surge for Sussex County as they went a combined 10-for-11 at the plate with three doubles, four RBIs and nine runs scored. Catcher Luis Alen also had a hit and drove in four runs for the Miners.

Sussex County starting pitcher Michael Wagner tossed 6 2/3 innings and took home the win. Wagner gave up two earned runs on five hits with four walks and four strikeouts. The righty is now 2-0 on the year.

For Quebec, 3B/SS TJ White went 2-for-4 with three runs scored.

Ottawa 4, Trois-Rivieres 3

Starting pitcher Jordan Kurokawa tossed seven shutout innings in leading Ottawa to a 4-3 win over Trois-Rivieres.

Kurokawa had another solid outing as he gave up only three hits and a walk while striking out six batters in 103 pitches. The righty picked-up his league tying eighth win of the season and now has the second lowest ERA at 1.85.

After three scoreless innings to start off the contest, the Champions took a 3-0 lead in the fourth on a three-run home run from 1B Vincent Guglietti. Ottawa then added an important insurance run in the seventh on an RBI triple from SS Daniel Bick. The Aigles received a three-run blast from RF Michael Suchy in the ninth but their efforts to comeback and win came up short.

Bick went 2-for-5 with an RBI while leadoff hitter Chase Harris contributed three hits in five at-bats.
