Ottawa 10, New Jersey 0
Ottawa scored nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to blow open the game and roll past New Jersey by a 10-0 score.
The Champions had 14 hits in the contest with every batter in the lineup collecting at least one. Ottawa RF Steve Brown went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI while leadoff hitter Coco Johnson plated a pair of runs and drove in two in a 2-for-5 night. Third baseman Jordan Caillouet also chipped in three hits in five at-bats for the Champions.
Ottawa starting pitcher Jordan Kurokawa tossed a complete game shutout to earn his fourth win of the year. Kurokawa allowed only four hits, all singles, and struck out five batters. The righty has two shutouts to lead the league and has won three consecutive starts.
Quebec 3, Sussex County 1
It is six straight wins for the Quebec Capitales as they downed Sussex County by a 3-1 score.
The Miners jumped out on top 1-0 in the top of the second as C Luis Alen singled home RF Rubi Silva from second base. Quebec tied the contest at 1-1 in the bottom frame on a solo home run from LF James McOwen. The Capitales took the lead for good in the third on an RBI single from CF Kalian Sams and then added an insurance in the sixth on a solo blast from 1B Brad Antchak.
Quebec starting pitcher Ryan Searle tossed seven solid innings in notching his sixth win of the season. Searle gave up one unearned run on five hits and struck out six batters.
For Sussex County, 3B Martin Figueroa went 2-for-4.
Rockland 6, Trois-Rivieres 2
Rockland belted three home runs and received a superb performance from starter Justin Brantley in their 6-2 victory Trois-Rivieres.
Boulders RF Conor Bierfeldt went 2-for-3 on the night with a pair of home runs and two RBIs while C Jason Agresti hit a solo blast and drove in three runs in a 3-for-3 game. Rockland had seven total hits in the contest and scored at least a run in five of the first six innings.
Brantley threw seven terrific innings in picking-up the win for the Boulders. Brantley gave up a pair of runs on five hits and fanned 12 batters. With the victory, the 27-year-old is now 2-0 on the season.
For the Aigles in the loss, C Alex Herceg went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
