Quebec 9, Rockland 7

The Capitales took the opener of a three-game series at Stade Municipal. Quebec scored in six of their eight innings at the plate, beginning with a two-run first. Five Capitales had multi-hit games. CF Sebastien Boucher was 4-for-5, 1B Balbino Fuenmayor was 3-for-5, and 2B Mike Provencher, DH Rene Leveret and C Jean-Luc Blaquiere had two hits each.

Boucher hit a triple and Leveret blasted his seventh home run of the season. In total, the Capitales had 17 hits.

Rockland had 14 hits, and four of their runs came in the seventh inning. DH Stephen Cardullo and C Marcus Nidiffer had three hits each. 2B Matt Nandin had two hits, including a home run.

RHP Chris Cox earned the win in relief with two innings of work, striking out two. RHP Jay Johnson saved the game for Quebec.

New Jersey 14, Trois-Rivieres 6

The Jackals banged out 13 hits en route to a win in the series opener over the Aigles. Eight of the nine Jackals recorded hits in the game, and the top four hitters in the order all had multi-hit games. CF Alonzo Harris led the way for New Jersey, going 3-for-5 with three RBIs. DH Joe Dunigan was 2-for-5 with his 13th home run of the season for New Jersey. Dunigan's other hit was a double.

The Jackals scored five runs in the fourth, four in the sixth and three in the seventh. 1B Michael Hernandez and 2B Felix Brown were both 2-for-3 for the Aigles.

LHP Tom Vessella struck out three in two and 2/3 innings for the win in relief for New Jersey.
