Quebec 3, New Jersey 0

Starter Jeff Duda and relievers Chris Cox and TJ Stanton combined on a three-hit shutout as the Quebec Capitales beat the New Jersey Jackals, 3-0. Duda went the first seven innings allowing two walks and three hits while fanning 10 batters. Duda picked up the win and is now a league best 12-1 on the season. Cox and Stanton did not give up a hit over the final two innings and together struck out three batters. Stanton notched his 13th save of the season. Offensively for Quebec, CF Sebastien Boucher went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. With the victory by the Capitales, Quebec now has a 4 1/2 game lead over New Jersey in the league standings.

Newark 4, Worcester 3

The Newark Bears scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning to break a 2-2 tie and held on late to defeat the Worcester Tornadoes, 4-3. Four Newark players had two hits in the game, including DH Daryle Ward who went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Bears starting pitcher Mike Ness picked up his ninth win of the season. Ness went eight innings giving up three earned runs on ten hits with a walk and nine strikeouts. Bears closer Jorge Vasquez allowed a hit and struck out two hitters in the ninth inning to collect his league lead tying 15th save of the season.
