Newark 5, New York 2

The Bears were out hit 11-6 in the contest but took advantage of three New York errors.

Pittsfield used three homeruns to cruise past Quebec 9-4. New Jersey 8, Rockland 7

Down 7-0 after four innings New Jersey stormed back with eight unanswered runs to defeat Rockland 8-7. The key inning for the Jackals was the bottom of the eighth, when they scored five times after the first two batters were retired. They did so without the benefit of an extra base hit, using four walks, three singles, and a hit batsman to generate the five runs. 3B Nick Giarraputo paced the New Jersey offense as he finished 2-for-3 with three runs scored.

Brockton 5, Worcester 1

Leading 2-1, Brockton scored three times in the seventh inning to top Worcester 5-1. Four Brockton pitchers combined to allow just six hits, including starter Julian Sampson who tossed five scoreless innings to even his record at 1-1. The middle of the Rox batting order provided the bulk of the offense as C Chris Grossman, RF Keith Brachold, and LF Ryan Royster combined for six hits and four RBI. Tornadoes starter Nick Serino allowed two earned runs in 4.2 innings on five hits and four base on balls. He dropped to 1-1 with the loss.
