The Atlantic City Surf used a six-run seventh inning to break open a tight game and beat the Sussex Skyhawks going away. Surf SS Anthony Granato went 3-for-5 with a run scored and four RBI while 1B Eddie Kim had a 2-for-4 day with two runs scored and a run batted in. LF/C Joe Burke chipped in with a two-run homer in the six-run seventh as well for Atlantic City. Aaron Easton won the game in relief for the Surf pitching 3 2/3 innings allowing only a hit while striking out five. He is 1-0 on the season. LF Alex Frazier was 3-for-4 with a run scored for the Skyhawks in the losing cause.

Ottawa 5, Brockton 4

The Ottawa Rapidz rallied with two runs in the top of the seventh inning to erase a 4-3 deficit and defeat the Brockton Rox. LF Jereme Milons led the way offensively for the Rapidz going 3-for-5 with a RBI. Ottawa RF Pete Pirman and 2B Jose De Los Santos each had 2-for-4 days at the dish with a run scored. Rapidz starter Fraser Robinson evened up his record at 1-1 with the win hurling six innings giving up four earned runs on eight hits with a strikeout. Angelo Burrows pitched the final three innings allowing only a hit while collecting a strikeout to notch his second save of the year.

Worcester 2, Quebec 1 (Game 1 - 8 innings)

The Worcester Tornadoes got a great outing from starting pitcher Tom Cochran and a run in the eighth inning to win game one of the doubleheader in extra innings. Cochran allowed one run on eight hits and struck out four in seven innings of work to pick up the win and improve his record to 3-0 on the season. Tornadoes reliever John Birtwell came on to toss a perfect eighth in which he fanned two to pick up his fourth save. Worcester LF Scott Grimes led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run and both of his team's RBI. Capitales 3B Patrick Deschenes also homered and was 1-for-4 in the losing effort.

Quebec 9, Worcester 0 (Game 2 - 7 innings)

The Capitales rebounded in game two to salvage a split of the doubleheader. The split keeps Quebec 1 ½ games up on Worcester in the standings. Quebec starting pitcher Luis Valdez dazzled on the mound, allowing just three base runners in a one-hit shutout. He struck out four and walked two en route to improving his record to 4-0 on the season. The Capitales had no such trouble hitting the baseball as they rapped out 12 hits, led by C Greg Stevens who was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. In all, four different Quebec hitters recorded multi-hit games.
