In a back and forth contest, Worcester struck the last blow as 2B Omar Pena singled home 1B Chris Colabello in the top of the ninth inning to give the Tornadoes a 6-5 win at Quebec. The Capitales jumped ahead 2-0 on back-to-back homers from 1B Pat Scalabrini and DH Eddie Lantigua before Worcester answered with four runs in the third inning highlighted by Colabello's 15th long ball of the year. Lantigua homered again in the sixth as Quebec tied the game 5-5 before the Tornadoes strung together three singles in the ninth off Quebec closer Jason Schutt. The Tornadoes pulled within one game of first place with the victory.

New Jersey 7, Sussex 6 (13 Innings)

In a battle of attrition, New Jersey outlasted Sussex 7-6. CF Zach Smithlin scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 13th inning to win it for the Jackals. 3B Chris Kelly and SS Bryant Nelson each homered for New Jersey and 1B Matt Weston hit his 21st dinger of the year for the Skyhawks. Both starting pitchers struck out seven batters each, Ted Serro for New Jersey and Roger Lincoln for Sussex. Skyhawks leadoff man Ron Perodin went 5-for-6 on the night and three other hitters had three hits in the contest.

Nashua 8, Atlantic City 6 (12 Innings)

@ Nashua, NH Time: 4:14 Attendance: 1,132

HR: ATC- Joe Burke (5); NSH- Sandy Almonte (4), Jerod Edmondson (2)

Trailing 6-1 in the bottom of the ninth inning, Nashua scored five times to push the game into extra innings where a walkoff two-run homer by 1B Jerod Edmondson gave the Pride a wild 8-6 win. Atlantic City reliever Tony Pierce had a rough outing as he allowed a grand slam in the ninth to Nashua SS Sandy Almonte which trimmed the Surf lead to 6-5. Pierce then got a fly ball off the bat of Pride CF Ervin Alcantara, but the ball was misplayed and Alcantara ended up at second base. LF Dorian Rojas followed with a triple and the game was tied 6-6. It stayed that way until the bottom of the 12th when Edmondson's homer ended it.

Ottawa 2, Brockton 1

HR: None

Ottawa used an RBI single and a sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to rally from a 1-0 deficit and defeat Brockton 2-1. C Kyle Geiger doubled to right field and LF Jereme Milons was intentionally walked. Geiger scored on a single by RF Pete Pirman to tie the game, and after advancing to third on a passed ball, Milons scored on a sacrifice fly by 3B Nate Hall. Both runs were scored off Rox closer Jerry Dunn who saw his record drop to 1-4. Ottawa reliever Angelo Burrows pitched 2/3 of an inning and was the winner. Brockton RF Dennis Abreu finished 2-for-4 and 3B Eduardo Rios went 3-for-4 in the contest.
