June 2, 2011 - Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL)
Trenton Steel News Release

A pair of Trenton Steel players, by virtue of their performances in the team's 78-53 win over Erie May 26, were named Southern Indoor Football League Players of the Week Thursday.

Steel kicker Craig Camay was named SIFL Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time this season, while wide receiver Damon Harrison captured his first SIFL Offensive Player of the Week plaudit.

"Both Craig and Damon were keys to a big win that helped put us in the playoffs,'' said Steel head coach Rod Miller. "Both came through with the type of execution we need to win games like that.''

Camay, who leads the SIFL in field goals with 11 and kick-scoring with 149 points, was a perfect 10-for-10 in extra points, kicked a 19-yard field goal and scored an Uno.

"Craig was perfect in with his kicks, and those points add up,'' said Miller. "They are very important in these games. Craig has been clutch.''

Harrison caught nine passes for 141 yards and five touchdowns, becoming quarterback E.J. Nemeth's primary target as Erie double-covered fellow receiver Oderick Turner for much of the contest. He also returned a kickoff 57 yards for a touchdown. For the season, Harrison has 45 catches for 455 yards and 18 touchdowns.

"With the late-season changes we had, Damon has really stepped up,'' said Miller. "He's become a big part of our offense and taken over the kick-return duties in a big way.''

The Steel, after their bye week, conclude their regular-season in Harrisburg June 11 and enter the SIFL playoffs at either the Albany (Ga.) Panthers or Columbus (Ga.) Lions June 18.
