North Iowa Outlaws News Release

Mason City (IA) The North American Hockey League has named Outlaws' goaltender Thomas Callaghan (New Westminster, PA) the GDI/NAHL Goaltender of the Week. Callaghan helped lead the Outlaws to a two-game sweep in Bismarck, ND last weekend turning aside 58 of 61 shots he faced in the series. He stopped 30 shots in a 3-1 win on Friday and 28 shots in a 5-2 victory on Saturday.

"Thomas provides us with a veteran presence in net and has been getting the attention of quite a number of scouts," said Outlaws head coach Jeff Crouse.

Callaghan spent last season with the NAHL's Texas Tornado and has played in all but one game for the Outlaws this season, going 4-2-0 in net. He has been in goal for all three of the Outlaws' wins during this recent three-game winning streak.

The Outlaws (4-3-0) return to action on Friday at the North Iowa Ice Arena against the Owatonna Express at 7:30pm.

The North Iowa Outlaws Hockey Club is in its fourth season as members of the North American Hockey League. The NAHL is the nation's largest Junior A hockey league and is now in its 33nd year of operation. For more information, visit northiowaoutlaws.com or call (641) 424-5468.
