Maywood Buzz News Release

Maywood, CA. The California forest fires shortened the tremendous round robin basketball tournament held over the weekend in Maywood, California. According to Burrel Lee, Coach of the ABA Maywood Buzz, "Damone Hale's San Francisco Rumble and the Buzz were headed for a showdown in the finals on Sunday. But we had to hold off on playing the Championship game because we were eager for San Francisco to get out before they closed the roads. However, we'll be meeting them shortly in the regular season and perhaps we'll call that the Championship game."

The six team Shootout included three ABA teams, the Arizona Rhinos, the San Francisco Rumble and the Maywood Buzz plus three strong SoCal pro-am teams. The Buzz and the Rumble finished at 3-0 while the Rhinos ended up 0-3 losing three very close tightly contested games. All three teams should move up in the ABA Power Rankings this week based on their strong performances. For more information, visit www.buzzbasketball.com or www.abalive.com.
