Calgary Signs O-Lineman Trevon Tate

The Calgary Stampeders have signed free-agent American offensive lineman Trevon Tate.

Birthplace: Channelview, TX


Tate played and started 10 games for the Toronto Argonauts in 2023 and was part of an offensive line that allowed a league-low total of 19 sacks. He made eight starts at left tackle and two at right tackle.

The University of Memphis product played a total of 18 games for the Boatmen after starting his career with Hamilton in 2019. He also appeared in one game for Ottawa in 2021 and has a total of 21 career games played in the CFL.

In college, Tate played 51 games and made 48 starts in four seasons at Memphis. He earned first-team all-American Athletic Conference honours in 2017 as he part of a Tigers offence that produced a school-record 6,917 yards and he was all-AAC second team in 2018. Tate made eight starts at right tackle as a freshman and played primarily at left tackle for his final three seasons.
