KODAK, Tenn. - Tennessee Smokies reliever Alberto Cabrera has been selected to tomorrow's Southern League All-Star Game at Smokies Park, as announced today by the Southern League. Cabrera has been added to the North team as a reserve.
Cabrera has been solid out of the Smokies bullpen all season long. In 22 relief appearances for Tennessee, he has gone 2-1 with a 2.41 ERA (9 ER/33.2 IP) and has collected five saves. The Chicago Cubs added him to the team's 40-man roster on November 19, 2010. Cabrera was signed by the Cubs as a non-drafted free agent in 2005.
