
C.J. Watson Named NBA Development League Player of the Month

NEW YORK, Jan. 2, 2007 - C.J. Watson of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers was today named NBA Development League Player of the Month for games played from the start of the season (Nov. 23) through December.
In 14 games this season, Watson is averaging 25.4 points, 5.2 assists and 5.2 rebounds in 36.4 minutes. Watson has converted 108-of-210 (.514) attempts from the floor and 128-of-142 (.901) from the free throw line, and 11-of-28 (.393) from behind the three-point line.
Watson notched double-figure scoring in 13 of 14 games, including five games of at least 30 points. Watson also recorded two double-double performances (34 points and 10 assists against Idaho on Dec. 14, and 32 points and 15 assists against Dakota on Dec. 22).
Also receiving consideration for D-League February Player of the Month were Elton Brown of the Colorado 14ers, Dwayne Mitchell of the Iowa Energy, and Carlos Powell of the Dakota Wizards.
