Buzz Basketball Club Summer Celebrity Basketball Game July 26

The Buzz Basketball Club will be hosting it's 2008 Summer Jam Celebrity Basketball Game on Saturday, July 26th, 2008 at 2:00pm. The game will be held at the Maywood Activity Center located at 4801 East 58th Street, Maywood, CA 90270. Pre-sale tickets are $5.00 and at the door $8.00.

The game will be benefiting the Buzz Basketball Club Girls Youth Basketball Team as they make their way to Las Vegas, NV to compete in the 2008 ARC Las Vegas Nationals, July 27th - 29th, 2008.

We are very thankful to have friends like Tha Goodfellas (from 93.5 KDAY), Actors Antwon Tanner, Dre Bowie, Texas Battle, Model Ms. Boston, Comics Jay Phillips, Skillz, Juan Garcia, up & coming R&B Star Lil B. Sure (son of Al B. Sure), Rapper Thrasher and many more that will grace our court.

"This is a great opportunity for the girls from the City of Maywood and surrounding communities to go out to Las Vegas and represent their community as they contend for the ARC Las Vegas Nationals Championship," stated Buzz Basketball Club Founder/Head Coach Burrel Lee III. "The City of Maywood and local businesses have been great in helping us to Las Vegas and we are excited to have this chance to compete on this stage" added Lee.

For many of the girls this will be their first time leaving the state of California and playing in an event like this. "I am ready to see how we fair against other girls from around the county. Coach has had us working, running, and practicing on our game for over 3 months now and it has showed as we went to the semi-finals of our last tournament" added Dara Madrid (a 11th Guard Bell HS).
