
Busy Week ahead as RoadRunners begin Six-Game Homestand

TOPEKA, KS, FEB 20, 2009: The Topeka RoadRunners Junior A hockey team kicks off a pivotal 6-game homestand starting Thursday, Feb.26 at 7:05 when they face the Kenai River Brown Bears. These first three games will be filled with activity on the ice, and with several promotions in place, will be bustling off the ice as well. Here is a look ahead at some of the activities:
THU. FEB.26 vs KENAI RIVER 7:05 PM This is a Family Fun Night, with general admission tickets priced at $5.00, free parking, $1.00 hot dogs AND free popcorn. A great way to treat the whole family! ALSO... it is Topeka High School Night, and their booster club will be giving away free "Banger Sticks" to the first 500 fans. The renowned Topeka High Drum Line, known as the "Cruz Line" (after director Sal Cruz) will perform during the first intermission, and at various impromptu points throughout the evening, adding even more energy and vibrance to the building.
FRI. FEB. 27 vs KENAI RIVER 7:05 PM This is Military Appreciation Night, and all military personnel (active, reserve, and veterans) get in free with their military ID. Military families can purchase tickets at a special $5.00 rate. There will be a mobile recruiting office, a Hummer that can be inspected up close, and the famous Rock Wall for climbing will be set up as well. Spend some time interacting with the men and women who serve our country, and learn some interesting facts as well.
SAT. FEB. 28 vs kenai river 7:05 pm Puckabod / Washburn Night. All Washburn students get in for $5.75 with student ID. The Ichabod will drop the ceremonial puck, and the Dancing Blues will perform at the first intermission. It is also Topeka West Night, and all Topeka West students get in for $5.75 with current ID. After the game, the public is welcome to "Skate With The RoadRunners" for just just $5.00, plus $2.00 skate rental if needed.
