Marquette Rangers News Release
Marquette - Former Marquette Ranger forward Josh Bussell is coming home.
After being traded to Motor City in October of 2008, Bussell became available and has been offered a spot back on the Marquette roster. He should be in the lineup this weekend as the team travels to Wyandotte for games this weekend against the Metal Jackets.
"We're excited to have Josh back in our lineup," head coach Kenny Miller said. "He always played well in Lakeview, was a bit of a crowd favorite, and can do a lot offensively when given the chance. We're confident he'll once again be a strong presence in our division."
Bussell, 20, was the Rangers second leading scorer during his rookie season in 2007 - 09 with 44 points (22g 22a) on the season, and was leading the team in scoring in 2008 when the trade was made to bolster the Rangers defensive unit. The trade brought Reed Rushing to Marquette, Rushing later signed with Bowling Green State University (CCHA).
Bussell also spent time last season with Mahoning Valley before that organization moved to the United States Hockey League; he began the season with the Texas Tornado of the NAHL before returning to Marquette.
