San Francisco Bulls News Release
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The San Francisco Bulls, proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, announced today the team has agreed to terms with goaltender, Tyler Beskorowany. He is the first goaltender added to the Bulls' 2013-14 roster.
"He's an elite goaltender," said Bulls President and Head Coach Pat Curcio. "He brings exceptional size and skill to the position. He was a second-round draft pick and one of the first goalies selected in his draft class. He's got the potential to play in the NHL."
Beskorowany, 23, enters his fourth year of professional hockey. The 6-foot, 5-inch native of Sudbury, Ontario was selected in the second round, 59th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Dallas Stars. Last season, Beskorowany went 17-12-3 with a 2.78 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL. He also went 4-1 in the postseason, helping Idaho to the Conference Finals.
"For me it was a good team to go to with a lot of potential there," said Beskorowany. "I've played with and against some of the guys that will be on the team next season. It's a good opportunity to showcase my talent so I can get to the next level. Last season, I had a chance to play at the Cow Palace and the atmosphere was really good. They put on a good show there."
Beskorowany has appeared in 51 American Hockey League (AHL) games with the Texas Stars, going 17-27-1 with a 3.10 goals-against average and a .899 save percentage. He spent the entire season in the AHL in 2011-12. In the ECHL, he has gone 27-17-1 with a 2.62 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage. He also represented Idaho at the 2010-11 ECHL All-Star Game. Prior to turning pro, Beskorowany played for the Kingston Frontenacs and Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). In 2009-10, he represented Kingston at the OHL All-Star Game, finishing the season 29-25-4.
