Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
SHREVEPORT, La. - After a successful first season, the Shreveport-Bossier Captains are pleased to announce that the Buffalo Wild Wings High School Baseball Series will return in 2011.
Along with media partners the Shreveport Times and Townsquare Media, the series features 10 high school games in March and April, along with three tournaments.
Sixteen different schools from three states will participate in the regular games, including a rematch of last year's Elysian Fields (Texas) - Chickasha (Okla.) interstate battle. The tournaments include a special creation in memory of former Willis-Knighton Health Systems trainer Jason Bland, organized by Airline High School and two USSSA tournaments.
"Buffalo Wild Wings was a great partner with us last year and we're thrilled to have them back for another year," Captains VP/General Manager Craig Brasfield said. "We hope that the games are as exciting as they were last season and that the fans enjoy them even more in 2011."
Concession stands will be open during each game and ticketing will be handled by the schools, with the schools retaining all box office proceeds. High school coaches can still schedule games for the series by calling Wiley Clark at the Captains' office, at 318-636-5555.
The Captains also wish to thank Rose Neath Funeral Home, Steadman's Sports Center, Dandy Products and SWEPCO for their sponsorship of the series. For a full schedule and all other extra events at Fair Grounds Field, visit http://sbcaptains.com/schedule/extraevents/
