
Buffalo Signs Veterans Kilgour, Bomberry

BUFFALO, NY (December 12, 2005) --- Buffalo Bandits Director of Lacrosse Operations Dave Zygaj today announced the signings of forward Cory Bomberry and veteran midfielder Rich Kilgour for the 2006 National Lacrosse League season.
Kilgour is returning for his 13th season with the Bandits. In 2005, the Niagara Falls, N.Y.-native appeared in 11 games, recording two goals and four assists for six points and 18 penalty minutes while serving as the Bandits' captain. In 122 career NLL games, all with the Bandits, Kilgour has scored 69 goals and 161 assists for 230 career points. In 15 career playoff games with Buffalo, Kilgour has scored 11 goals and 21 assists for 32 points and recorded 16 penalty minutes.
"Rich Kilgour is an original Bandit and will bring strong leadership into the dressing room this season," said Bandits head coach Darris Kilgour. "Cory Bomberry will play a big role on the power play and five-on-five, and as a veteran, he also brings leadership to the team."
After ranking third on Arizona in goals in 2005, Cory Bomberry was acquired by the Bandits from Edmonton in exchange for a third-round selection in the 2005 NLL Entry Draft. Bomberry was signed two a two-year contract.
A native of Six Nations, Ontario, Bomberry has scored at least 20 goals in each of the past five seasons. In 114 career games with Rochester and Arizona, the 6-foot, 215-pounder has scored 162 goals and 274 assists for 436 points, including a career-high 66 points three times; twice with Rochester in 2001 (24+42) and 2002 (22+44) and once with Arizona in 2004 (23+43). Bomberry had 11 points (3+8) in the 2005 Champions Cup playoffs with Arizona, and has scored 40 points (13+27) in the playoffs in his career.
