ST. JOHN'S, NL - The St. John's IceCaps launched the fifth annual Buddy's Book Club -Presented by Statoil, today at St. Peter's Primary School in Mount Pearl.

"The St. John's IceCaps are very happy to partner with Statoil for our fifth summer of promoting the joys and benefits of reading"," said IceCaps COO Glenn Stanford. "Reading is integral to all learning and it's important that children continue to develop these skills outside the traditional classroom setting."
Buddy's Book Club enables students and their parents to download a reading tracking sheet from the IceCaps website to follow their progress. Participants will be eligible for various prize packages through the hockey club.
"Statoil is proud that for the last five years, we have supported youth literacy through our partnership with the IceCaps and Buddy's Book Club," said Gisle Stjern, Vice President, Statoil Canada, Offshore Newfoundland.
