LAREDO, Texas – The Laredo Bucks won three straight games over the past week to move into second place in the Southeast division at 11-9-1 with 23 points. The Bucks beat the Southwest division leading San Angelo Saints 6-1 on Friday night at the LEC. On Saturday night at home the Bucks beat the Northeast division leading Fort Worth Brahmas 4-1. Tuesday the Bucks defeated the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees 5-2 at the LEC. The Bucks are home this Friday night again taking on the Killer Bees. Face off is set for 7:30 p.m. On Saturday the Bucks travel to Corpus Christi. RIO GRANDE VALLEY KILLER BEES · This is the third of 11 meetings this year between the teams and the second of five at the LEC. On Tuesday the Bucks beat the Killer Bees 5-2 at the LEC. Five different players scored goals for Laredo. The Killer Bees defeated the Bucks 5-3 on 10/29 at the Dodge Arena. Matic Kralj and Jason Tessier each had a pair of goals for RGV.

2003-04: The Bucks were 9-2-2 last year against Rio in the regular season, outscoring the Bees 50-29. The Bucks went 4-1-1 at the LEC and 5-1-1 at the Dodge Arena. Laredo swept the Killer Bees three games to none in the first round of the CHL playoffs, outscoring Rio 10-1.

CORPUS CHRISTI RAYZ · This is the fifth of 12 meetings this year between the teams. The Bucks beat the Rayz 4-2 on 10/23 at the LEC in their home opener. Bucks forward Jeff Bes had a hat trick. On 11/05 the Rayz opened up the AmericanBank Center with three power play goals in a 6-4 win over Laredo. On 11/26 the Bucks jumped to a 3-0 lead and held on for a 5-3 victory at the LEC. Jeff Bes and Brent Cullaton each had a pair of goals. On 11/27 the Rayz registered their first ever win at the LEC, 3-2 over Laredo. In the series the Bucks are 3-14 on the power play, while the Rayz are 5-23 this year.

2003-04: The Bucks were 11-2-0 against the Rayz last year, including 7-0-0 at home. The Bucks outscored the Rayz 38-14 in those seven home games. All-time Laredo is 23-6-0 against Corpus, including 15-1-0 at the LEC and outscoring them 86-38 on home ice.

FIRST THIRD OF SEASON IS OVER

· On Saturday night against Fort Worth the Bucks completed the first 20 games played this year, which constitutes the first third of the 60 game CHL season.

NORTHERN CONFERENCE

· The Bucks beat the Northern Conference leading Fort Worth Brahmas on Saturday 4-1. The Bucks are 2-0-1 versus the North.

SEASON HIGH SET

· The Bucks set a season high with a five goal victory Friday night over the San Angelo Saints, 6-1. The previous largest margin of victory this year was four goals.

SEASON HIGH PART DEUX

· The Bucks matched a season high with two power play goals on Saturday in a 4-1 victory over FTW. The Bucks had scored multiple power play goals only once before, 11/05 at COR.

WINNERS STAY

· Laredo goalie Jeremy Symington has won five straight starts. Bucks head coach Terry Ruskowski has told the goalies that if they win they stay in net for the next game. Symington has stopped 149 of the last 156 shots for a save percentage of .955 during the five game wining streak. On Monday he was selected as the Oakley CHL Goalie of the Week. He is the first Bucks player to win a weekly award this season.

GIVE ME FIVE

· Laredo has scored five goals or more in six of their last eight home games (four in one game and two in another, the lone loss), winning seven of the eight. The Bucks have outscored teams 37-14 in this stretch at home.

A LITTLE HICCUP

· The Bucks had stopped the opponent from scoring on the power play in six straight games until allowing two power play goals to Rio Grande Valley on Tuesday. The Bucks have stopped 68 of the last 74 opposition power play chances over the last 14 games (91.9 %) and moved from 16th up to 6th in the CHL on the penalty kill.

· 12/14/04 – TUESDAY – The defending CHL Champion Laredo Bucks beat the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees by the score of 5-2 in front of 4,908 fans at the Laredo Entertainment Center. Five different players scored as the Bucks recorded their fifth straight win and moved alone into second place in the Southeast Division at 11-9-1 with 23 points. Bucks goalie Jeremy Symington stopped 24 of 26 shots to grab his fifth straight win and improve to 7-3-0. Jeff Levy allowed four goals on 30 shots and fell to 6-10-1.

· 12/11/04 – SATURDAY – The defending CHL Champion Laredo Bucks skated to a season high fourth straight win by beating the Northern Conference leading Fort Worth Brahmas 4-1 at the Laredo Entertainment Center on Saturday night in front of 5,618 fans. The Bucks scored three special teams goals, including the game winner shorthanded, to improve to 10-9-1. The Bucks remain in a second place tie in the Southeast division with 21 points, just four points out of first place. Bucks goalie Jeremy Symington picked up his fourth straight win by stopping 32 of 33 shots to improve to 6-3-0. Brahmas goalie Dan Murphy allowed four goals on 35 shots and fell to 9-4-2. The Bucks finished 2-4 on the power play while Fort Worth was 0-4. The Bucks have stopped 67 of the last 71 opposition power play chances.

· 12/10/04 – FRIDAY – The defending CHL Champion Laredo Bucks powered their way to a 6-1 win over the visiting San Angelo Saints on Friday night in front of 5,120 fans at the Laredo Entertainment Center. By scoring six goals everyone in attendance at the LEC on Friday night received a free frosty from Wendy's with their game ticket. More importantly for Laredo with their third straight win the Bucks evened their record at 9-9-1 and moved within four points of the Southeast division lead. Bucks goalie Jeremy Symington won his 3rd straight start by stopping 25 of 26 shot to improve to 5-3-0. Scott Reid allowed six goals on 43 shots to fall to 12-5-1.
