The Rayz went on a five minute major power play early in the first, but were unable to capitalize. Later just after another Rayz power play chance had expired it was forward Jonathan St. Louis sliding the puck around Bucks goalie David Guerrera at 14:49 for a 1-0 Corpus Christi lead. Late in the period the Bucks drew even. With the puck bouncing around in the Rayz zone forward Jeff Bes picked it up and fired it home at 18:48 to tie the game. It was the 26th of the year for Bes and extended his CHL best point streak to 18 straight games.

In the second period the Rayz struck hard and fast. St Louis connected for his second of the night on a wrist shot from the blue line at 4:16. Just 39 seconds later it was Corpus Christi forward Patrick Levesque jamming home a pass from the top of the crease to make it 3-1 at 4:55. The Bucks came back as defenseman Serge Dube scored on a wrister from the slot at 8:07. Then late in the period the Bucks went on the power play. Forward Brent Cullaton fired a shot from the point that forward Chris Grenville tipped into the net at 14:46 to tie the game at three. It was Grenville's 27th of the year.

In the third period Laredo exploded. With a delayed penalty coming up the Bucks went ahead and scored when defenseman Mike Vellinga capped off a great pass from Cullaton for his fourth of the season at 5:54 to give the Bucks their first lead of the night 4-3. A little over three minutes later it was forward Patrik Nilson going top shelf for his 21st off a gorgeous pass from Dube at 9:12 to make it 5-3 Laredo. The assault continued as the Bucks turned in the prettiest play of the night. Forward Max Birbraer carried across the line on the left wing with a spin move and dropped for defenseman J.F. David who slipped a pass backdoor for a cutting Dube who tucked it inside the far post for his second of the night and 12th of the year to make it 6-3 Bucks at 13:58. David finished the scoring with a power play goal at 16:09. FINAL SCORE Laredo 7, Corpus Christi 3.

Guerrera stopped 23 of 26 shots to improve to 20-3-1. Craig Hillier turned in some brilliant saves, but allowed seven goals on 37 shots to drop to 0-1-0. The Bucks, number one in the CHL on the power play, went 2-5 while Corpus Christi was 0-3.
