
Bucks Conclude Home Stand This Weekend: Playoff Packages Available

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League will finish out their season long five-game home stand this weekend when they host two big rivals. The Bucks will host Rio Grande Valley on Friday and CHL-leading Bossier-Shreveport on Saturday. Group tickets are available starting at $10, with individual tickets starting at $12.75. Laredo will host division rival Rio Grande Valley Friday night on HEB Family Night. HEB will be giving out thunder stix to the first 1,500 fans to enter the LEC, and will have the HEB Ice Cream Truck outside the arena before the game giving out FREE ice cream.
The Bucks are 9-1 this season against the Killer Bees, including 4-0 at the LEC.
On Saturday Laredo will host rival Bossier-Shreveport on Saturday on Powell Watson Million Dollar Night. Powell Watson will host a pre-game tailgate party outside the LEC starting at 5:30pm. There will be Powell Watson vehicles outside during the party, along with food and drinks. Fans who attend the tailgate party will have a chance to sign up for a big Powell Watson give away prize.
Saturday will be the last Bucks prize hunt of the season giving fans to win up to $5,000 in prizes. Go to www.laredobucks.com for complete rules.
The game between the Bucks and Mudbugs will be a battle of the top two teams in the CHL, with Bossier leading the league in points with 85 (40-10-5), while the Bucks are second with 77 (37-17-3).
Laredo will take on the Mudbugs for the third and final time in the regular season, and look to pick up their first win of the campaign against them. This season the Bucks fell 6-2 to the Mudbugs at the LEC on January 12, and dropped a 2-1 game in Bossier on January 26th.
After this weekend the Bucks will travel to Youngstown to play a three game set on March 14-16, before closing out the regular season with a home-and-home series with the Killer Bees on March 21 and 22.
As of Wednesday morning the Bucks need a combination (Bucks wins and/or Odessa losses) of nine points to clinch the number one seed in the South. Odessa will host Arizona Thursday night. If the Sundogs beat the Jackalopes Thursday, the Bucks would need seven points to clinch the South.
