After being shutout on Saturday night the Bucks came out with an early goal. Forward Jeff Bes skated down the left boards into the corner then centered to cutting forward Adam Paiement who snapped home a wrist shot at 6:32. It was the 16th of the year for Paiement. The Rayz tied the game at 12:37 when forward Jason Baird scored on a wrist shot. The shots in the first period were even at 12 apiece.
The Bucks had the jump early in the second out shooting the Rayz 8-1, but were unable to score. The Rayz then out shot the Bucks 8-3 to end the period, but Corpus Christi was also unable to score and the game remained tied at one goal apiece after two periods.
Early in the third period the Bucks were swarming, but Rayz goalie Brent Zelenewich made several terrific saves to keep the game tied at one. At 4:50 Lloyd got a chance from the slot that Zelenewich got a piece of, but not enough as it trickled over the line for a goal to give the Bucks a 2-1 lead. It was the eighth of the year for Lloyd. The Bucks dominated play in the third as they out shot the Rayz 15-4. Paiement completed the scoring with an empty netter for his second of the game at 19:55. FINAL SCORE Laredo 3, Corpus Christi 1.
Bucks goalie David Guerrera stopped 24 of 25 shots to get the win and improve to 9-10-1. Zelenewich allowed two goals on 37 shots and took the loss to fall to 11-11-5. For the first time this year the Bucks did not have a power play chance, while Corpus Christi was 0-2.
