Published on February 8, 2005 under Central Hockey League (CHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release
Tulsa Oilers All-Star defenseman Mario Joly has been suspended 12 games by the Central Hockey League for an off-ice altercation with Oklahoma City Blazers head coach Doug Sauter.
Sauter will be fined by the CHL for his actions in the altercation.
The alleged fight/shove between Joly and Sauter took place with approximately 20 seconds left in overtime of this last weekend's game in the Ford Center in Oklahoma City. The CHL based their decision on reports from security personnel employed by the Blazers.
The Oilers will have to play a man down for ten of the 12 games of Joly's suspension.
