Bucks Announce Coaching Staff for 2020 IFL Season

BISMARCK, ND - The Bismarck Bucks announced today their coaching staff for the 2020 IFL season which includes four new hires. Head coach Rod Miller will be returning for his second season with the Bucks' Joining him for the upcoming season will be Steve Criswell, Dave Brumagen, Billy Jarvis, and Fred Abraham. In addition, the Bucks Football Operations staff will include Dylan Eisenbarth and Chad Coulter.

Offensive Line Coach & Assistant Head Coach, Steve Criswell

"Getting Steve on this staff for this season was my number one priority," said Head Coach Rod Miller. Criswell will begin his first season on the sidelines with the Bucks as the Offensive Line and Assistant Head Coach. He comes to the Bucks with many years of coaching experience including being an assistant coach with the Bucks very own, Rod Miller.

"Having worked together with the Philadelphia Soul (in the AFL) and being my assistant coach in China we have a very good understanding of each other and a working relationship that extends well beyond the playing field," said Miller. "Steve also was named the 2010 IFL Coach of the Year".

Defensive Line Coach, Dave Brumagen

Coach Dave Brumagen enters his first season with the Bismarck Bucks as the Defensive Line Coach. Brumagen joins the Bucks after previously coaching for the Lincoln Haymakers of the Champions Professional Indoor Football League (CPIFL). "Coach Dave and I have known of each other for a few years before we finally worked together in Omaha a couple years ago," said Coach Miller. "Dave is one of the best DL coaches in terms of techniques, teaching those techniques, and motivating his players. I had told Dave, if I ever have the opportunity to hire him on another staff, I would. I am grateful he is here this season".

Defensive Assistant Coach, Billy Jarvis

Billy Jarvis comes to Bismarck from Virginia where he coached high school, college and arena football. He also spent part of his career as an athletic director. He recently retired as a schoolteacher, coming to the Bucks with years of leadership experience on and off the field. "I have known of Coach Jarvis for a while now, but this is the first time we have actually had a chance to work together. Coach Jarvis has been a High School Head Football Coach and has had success in the indoor game as a Defensive Coordinator all in his home state of Virginia.

Adding another veteran coaching mind like his to this staff will be a huge benefit to our players".

Offensive Assistant Coach, Fred Abraham

The last addition to the coaching staff is Fred Abraham. Abraham is no stranger to the Bucks as he is a former Bucks wide receiver. In the 2019 IFL season, Abraham posted 511 yards and caught 11 touchdowns. Fresh off the field, he will bring a relatable aspect to the coaching staff.

"Saying Coach Abraham seems kind of funny right now, lol! But seriously as a veteran player from last season, Fred made the decision to transition from a player and begin his coaching career," said Coach Miller. "Fred was literally a coach on the field last season and was more than willing to share his knowledge and experiences with the younger players last season. His knowledge of the indoor game and his knowledge of our offensive system will make for a smooth transition for Fred and the players will relate and respond to him very well".

Football Operations Staff

Dylan Eisenbarth will be the Equipment Manager and Football Operations. The 2020 IFL season with mark Eisenba rth's first season with the Bucks' He is no stranger to the IFL, as he was previously the Director of Football Operations with the Green Bay Blizzard. Another addition to the operations staff is Chad Coulter. Coulter will be the Football Operations Intern for the 2020 season.

The 2020 season home opener for Bucks Football is March 8 at the Bismarck Event Center.
