The Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks have just re-signed RHP Todd Buchanan for the 2003 season, as well as adding new comers Chris Buckley and Bobby Koba to the roster.
Todd Buchanan, 27, a known right-handed pitcher, had split last season between the Amarillo Dillas and the Ducks. After joining the team, Buchanan pitched in 10 games, five of which he finished. He ended the 2002 season with an ERA of 3.77. He was originally with the Ducks back in 1999 for their inaugural season with a 1-5 win/loss record, 12 games started and an ERA of 6.03.
The Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks also welcome newcomers Chris Buckley and Bobby Koba. Buckley, a 26-year-old Arkansas native, is a right-handed outfielder. Koba, a 25-year-old rookie from California State-Northridge, is skilled in short stop, third base and second base.
Wilson Reaching 500 College Wins
The Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks are proud to call Phil Wilson Manager for a number of reasons. Wilson is Head Coach for the North Arkansas Pioneers and is setting quite a few records. The Pioneers have been having a great season with a record of 16-5 and are on a 13 game win streak. "I tell you, these boys don't want to lose," said Phil Wilson. "They do whatever it takes to get the win. I am really proud of these kids." His previous college coaching record is 480-355 and he's well on his way to reaching 500 college baseball wins. Right now he's four away from attaining that astounding mark in his career. He'll soon be working with the players of the Ducks and is ready to achieve more records.
