Brooklyn Aviators News Release

BROOKLYN, New York - Before the puck drops on Saturday, March 3, 2012 the Brooklyn Aviators Hockey Club, proud second year member of the Federal Hockey League, and the American Red Cross are teaming up for a blood drive at Aviator Sports and Events Center from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Donating blood is a simple act that helps save lives. Blood is an essential component for patient care in area hospitals, and the only source of blood is a healthy, volunteer blood donor.

As a special thank you for helping their neighbors, all those who come roll up a sleeve to help those in need of blood, will receive a voucher for two tickets to that night's game against the New Jersey Outlaws, or, to one of the Aviator's playoff games, a voucher for one free open skate and much more. The day will also feature special performances every hour by Aviator's own Rhythmic and Artistic Gymnastics teams.

"The [Brooklyn] Aviators, along with the Aviator Sports and Events Center, are proud to team with yet another great organization in the American Red Cross," said Jun Okada, Aviators Team Executive. "This season alone, we have collected hundreds of toys and canned goods to help the borough of Brooklyn and New York City. We hope to continue the trend and to collect as many units of blood as we can during our blood drive."

The Brooklyn Aviators next home game is Feb. 20 against the New Jersey Outlaws at 7:35 P.M. Great tickets are still on sale by calling 718-758-7580, or logging onto www.brooklynaviators.com. Catch the action all season long with reigning FHL Broadcaster of the Year, Carmine Vetrano on the Aviators radio network.
