Broncos Fall 10-9 to the Dillas in Finale

A day after banging out 19 hits, the Broncos (4-10) mustered just eight in a 10-9 loss to the Dillas (8-6) in Amarillo.
Eric Eden (0-1) making his third start in 2010 for the Broncos, and just the third professional start in his career was up against Ryan Mitchell (1-0) of the Dillas.
Eden got through the first unharmed and into the second the score was tied 0-0. With one out in the bottom of the second Stephen Douglas hit an infield single and stole second and third base. Douglas was knocked in by a groundout T.J Warren and the score was 1-0 Dillas.
Broncos would even things up in top of third. A single by Memmert, Fowler reached on an error, Flynn bunted them both over and Diaz knocked in the tying run with a groundout to the shortstop to make the score 1-1.
The Dillas bat came alive in the bottom of the third. They scored five runs on just three hits and an error. A home run by Stephen Douglas brought in two and the score was 6-1 Dillas.
Doug Thennis brought the Broncos within striking distance with a three run homer, his third home run of the season to make the score 6-4 Dillas.
The Dillas added an insurance run in the fourth on an RBI Carlos Figeuroa to make the score 7-4.
In the top of the seventh the Broncos tied the game at 7-7 with back to back one out singles and a huge throwing error by Brent Buffa allowed both runs to score. Wolgamot came up and hit an RBI single to score Diaz, who was at third after the error.
In the bottom of the seventh Lucas walked two hitters in a row after a pop out. Lucas then gave up an RBI double to Stephen Douglas to make the score 8-7 Dillas.
Jeff Jamnik came into the game and faced one batter. With the bases loaded after an IBB, Jamnik go a ground ball that Memmert threw to the plate. The throw was low and Spruill, the catcher, smothered the ball. The runner was called safe at the plate on the error by Spruill and the score was 9-7 Dillas.
The Dillas kept at it and added one run in the bottom of the eighth on a Adam De La Garza solo home run.
In the top of the ninth Memmert led off with a single. Ramon Geronimo(0-0) was on the mound for the Dillas looking for a save and he would strike out the next two Bronco batters. With two down Jason Diaz would double. Wolgamot came to the plate and reached on a throwing error by De La Garza at third. It allowed both Memmert and Diaz to score it was 10-9 Dillas. Gilbert hit into a game ending fielders choice and 10-9 win went to the Dillas.

The Broncos now embark for Edinburg, and a four game series awaits them there with the first place Road Runners. First pitch 7:05 PM.
