
Broncos Cap Off Home Stand by Winning Eighth Straight

The Broncos won their eighth game in row, a walk off two run home run by Maiko Loyola with two out in the bottom of the ninth off Roberto Rodriguez. The Broncos move to three games ahead of the White Wings and Colts for third place in the United League with the victory.
The Broncos sent RHP Santo Hernandez () to the mound to attempt to complete the sweep against the Rio Grand Valley White Wings. The Wings countered with RHP David Cross () to stop the slide.
Neither team scored in the first innings, Hernandez facing only three batters and Cross facing four batters.
In the top of the second Welinson Baez got a hold of a fastball from Hernandez and put it over the left-centerfield wall to give the Wings a 2-0 lead. Welington Dotel came home on the homer after reaching on a fielder's choice.
The White Wings added two runs to their lead in the top of the fifth on a solo home run by Arlon Quiroz, his 13th of the year to make it a 3-0 lead. Javis Diaz, two batters later was hit by a pitch and stole second base. Yeury Tejeda brought Diaz home with an RBI fielder's choice after a wild pitch moved him to third and the lead was 4-0 Wings.
In the bottom half of the fifth the Broncos offense finally broke through against Cross. Cross held the Broncos scoreless through the first four frames, only allowing three singles. With two outs in the frame the Broncos strung together four singles in a row, including RBI singles by D.J Dixon and Maiko Loyola to cut the Wings lead in half; 4-2.
Luany Sanchez, the former Bronco, connected with a fastball from Hernandez and hit his fourth home run of the year to add a run to the White Wings lead, making it 5-2. The home run spelled the end of the night for Hernandez. Santo pitched 6.2 innings, allowing four hits and five runs, all earned. He walked three and struck out eight.
Cross allowed just the two runs to the Broncos in eight innings of eight hit ball. Cross didn't issue a walk and struck out two.
RHP Miguel Matos came on in the ninth and issued to walks, one to Cisneros and one to Arroyo. Eddie Dennis went to the bullpen and brought in RHP Mickey Cassidy. Cassidy struck out Nick Mahin, who pinch-hit for Ryan Flynn. Two on, two out, and Jason Diaz hit a two run double to make it a 5-4 Wings lead. Eddie Dennis came out and brought his second baseman Roberto Rodriguez into pitch. Maiko Loyola came up and crushed the first pitch he saw deep over the right field wall for a walk off two run homer. The Broncos completed their second walk off victory in as many games.

The Broncos will jump on the bus tomorrow morning and head to Edinburg to play a four game series with the first place Road Runners; first pitch at 7:05 PM.
