Brodhag Named NAHL Central Division POW
October 20, 2008 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
North Iowa Outlaws News Release
Mason City (IA) The North American Hockey League has named Outlaws' forward Brandon Brodhag (Brooklyn Park, MN) as the Central Division player of the week. After being held scoreless in the Outlaws 5-2 home win over Bismarck on Friday, Brodhag netted a hat trick to help the Outlaws to a 6-4 win in Alexandria on Saturday. It was the first hat trick in 11 months for North Iowa, and gives Brodhag a streak in which he has recorded a point in seven of the last eight games.
"Brandon had a great rookie season last year and he's been able to pick right up where he left off and we're benefiting from that," said Outlaws head coach Jeff Crouse.
Brodhag earned the Central Division rookie of the year award last season as a member of the Southern Minnesota Express.
The Outlaws (7-3-1) return to action on Friday at the North Iowa Ice Arena against the Bismarck Bobcats at 7:30pm.
