Bring the Brooms Tropics Fans, Florida Looks for Sweep of Harrisburg Heat Sunday
January 7, 2023 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Florida Tropics SC News Release
LAKELAND, Fla. -- The Florida Tropics will look to make it a weekend doubleheader sweep over the Harrisburg Heat when the two teams tangle for the second time in three days Sunday afternoon at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.
Kickoff is at 3:05 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the MASL TV Channel on Twitch, with pre-game coverage set to go around 2:45 p.m.
The Tropics (5-2 with one overtime loss) three times had to rally from one-goal deficits to finally shake the pesky and shorthanded Heat. Because of illness and injury, they had eight regulars out of the lineup, but still gave Florida all it could handle. The Tropics finally took their first lead in the game with about five minutes to play on goals 21 seconds apart by Ricardo Carvalho and Zach Reget, who has scored in all eight of Florida's games so far.
Reget is the team's leading goal getter with 11, and he, Victor Parreiras and Drew Ruggles all have 14 points overall to lead in that category. Danny DiPrima, who did dress Frieday, leads Harrisburg (1-3) with three goals
After this weekend's double dip - which ends a stretch of eight games in 22 days - they will host the Milwaukee Wave in what figures to be a key east showdown next Sunday, Jan. 15 at the RP Funding Center.
Tickets for all home games are available starting at just $7 per game by calling the arena box office at 863-834-8111. Although tickets are also available online at www.rpfundingcenter.com, service fees are significantly higher through Ticketmaster as opposed to calling the box office directly. Tickets are also available on game day at the box office.
