Somerset Starting Pitcher Rick Teasley (4-1) earned the win, allowing just two runs (one earned run) on six hits in seven and two-thirds innings pitched, walking one and striking out five.
Somerset went to work quickly against Badamo, taking a 3-0 lead in the home half of the first inning. Adam Donachie got the scoring started when he plated Justin Pacchioli with the game's first run after he laced a two-out RBI double down the left field line. Back to back run-scoring singles from Greg Golson and Tyler Bortnick finished the scoring off as the home team enjoyed an early three-run cushion. Somerset concluded their scoring in the bottom of the sixth when Mark Minicozzi and Carlos Guzman each drove home a run with base hits to give the Patriots a 7-0 cushion. Bridgeport was finally able to crack the scoreboard in the top of the eighth on a pair of sacrifice flies from Luis Hernandez and D'Arby Myers, but that was all they could muster as they had no answer for Teasley, who improved to 2-0 versus the 'Fish in 2017.Daniel Fields led the way for the Bluefish with two hits, notching his 11th multi-hit game on the 2017 campaign.
