Bricktown Brawlers News Release

The Bricktown Brawlers, Oklahoma City's new indoor football team, play their second home game of the 2011 season at the Cox Convention Center on Sunday, March 13, 2011. Kickoff time is set for 7:11 p.m.

The Oklahoma City Bricktown Brawlers are owned by businessman Dale Morris. Morris, who also owns a team in West Texas, is originally from Oklahoma and hopes to bring a successful professional football franchise back to the community.

"This team is going to compete for a championship every year," Morris said at the press conference introducing the team. "And I'm going to tell you right now, I'm guaranteeing you we make the playoffs."

His head coach is Will McCarthy. McCarthy comes to Oklahoma after serving one season as head coach of the Kent Predators. He also served as an assistant coach at the El Paso Generals in 2009 where his offensive unit finished in the Top 3 in passing yards, total offense and points per game.

Will McCarthy has a weekly coach's show on Cox Cable, Channel 3. Brandon Rush, the radio voice of the Bricktown Brawlers, hosts the show, which films weekly from BRiX Restaurant and Sports Lounge in Bricktown.

The Oklahoma City Bricktown Brawlers (0-2) hope to get on track to score their first win in franchise history. Former Georgia Tech quarterback Reggie Ball and UCO standout Ben Birmingham lead the Brawlers offense into the game on Sunday. Former Oklahoma Sooner Steve Coleman and West Texas A&M star Steve Allen anchor the defense.
