GLENDALE, AZ (January 6, 2014) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Brampton Beast forward Scott Howes has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending January 5, 2014.

In recognition of his achievement, Howes will receive a special gift from Oakley. To learn more about all of Oakley's products, visit www.oakley.com.

After a scoreless first game of the week in a loss to Quad City on Monday, the Toronto native lit it up in back-to-back wins in Missouri on Friday and Saturday. Howes finished with six goals and two assists in the two games with one game winning goal and a +6 plus/minus rating. The sniper could have added to his totals on Sunday but the Beast's game in St. Charles was postponed due to bad weather.

The Beast signed Howes back in mid-December and he has averaged two points a game since, scoring eight goals with six assists in seven games. Brampton is 3-3-1 since signing with the team and he becomes the first "˜Player of the Week' for the expansion Beast.
