Brad Thompson Added to STL Legends Game Roster

O'FALLON, MO- The River City Rascals are excited to announce another former Cardinal to the 2017 Saint Louis Legends Game line-up, presented by Pella Windows and Doors. Brad Thompson will join the renowned roster which includes Jim Edmonds, Skip Schumaker, Rick Ankiel, Fernando Tatis, John Tudor, and Jason Isringhausen as well as several local celebrities and more legends to come.

The STL Legends game is taking place on Saturday, August 19th, at CarShield Field. The gates will open at 10:45 AM for the sold out pre-game autograph meet and greet. At noon, the gates will open for general public entry. The seven-inning game will begin at 1 PM.

Brad Thompson was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 16th round of the 2002 amateur draft, from Dixie State College of Utah. To this day, Thompson still holds the AA single-season scoreless innings streak, while with the Cardinals affiliate, the Tennessee Smokies. The following season, on May 8th, 2005 Thompson got the call making his major league debut with the Cardinals for the first of six seasons in the major leagues. He finished his rookie season with 40 appearances and a 2.95 ERA in 55 innings. Thompson pitched for the Cardinals from 2005 to 2009 as a starter and reliever spending most of his career in the bullpen. Overall he had a 4.46 ERA, 1.391 WHiP with only 121 walks in 405 innings. Thompson can now be found co-hosting the Fast Lane on 101ESPN and serving as a studio analyst on FOX Sports Midwest Cardinals Live.
