(POMONA, NY) -The Rockland Boulders will begin defense of their 2014 Can-Am League Championship when they host the Trois-Rivieres Aigles on Thursday, May 21 at 7:00 pm at Provident Bank Park. A ring ceremony honoring the first league title in franchise history will take place prior to the first pitch, complete with a banner raising and other surprises for the fans.
After the ring ceremony, fans will have the opportunity to get their picture taken with the Championship ring as minority partner John Flaherty, and select players, will be on the concourse to sign autographs and pose for photos. The game will also feature a 2015 Magnet Schedule giveaway to the first 1,000 fans and be followed by a fireworks extravaganza before Madeline Smith kicks off the Boulders "Thursday Acoustic Series" with a live, musical performance outside the Craft Beer Room. Thursday also marks the start of "Thirsty Thursdays" at Provident Bank Park, featuring $1 Bud and Bud Light drafts, along with a $3 Mystery Craft Beer. Opening Night begins the Boulders longest home-stand of the season, playing eight games in nine days. Fans can still purchase the Boulders "Championship Weekend" pack for only $49, which includes four (4) vouchers to any of Rockland's first five home dates, a 2014 Championship Pint Glass and four (4) vouchers to a 2015 home playoff game.
Along with Opening Night, "Championship Weekend, presented by the Journal News" includes a post-game performance from Floyd Pink (May 22), an appearance from the world famous Phillie Phanatic and performance from Eagles tribute band Desert Highway (May 23), the first Kids Run the Bases, presented by Tiara Jewelers and the initial Pups in the Park day (May 24), plus a Memorial Day doubleheader (May 25).
