Tucson Toros News Release
Chico, CA-The Tucson Toros bested the Chico Outlaws 9-3 on Saturday thanks to a strong start from lefty Jason Jacome and an offensive outburst from the bottom of the lineup. Tucson's hitters in the eighth and ninth spot in the lineup combined for seven hits and six of the team's nine runs scored.
Leftfielder Curt Miaso went 4-for-5 with three runs scored and Shortstop Ryan Priddy followed with three hits and three runs of his own. The rest of the infield also had multi-hit nights, with Junior Spivey, Skip Adams and Dustin Yount all contributing a pair of hits. Catcher Dylan Parzyk launched his third homer of the year.
The Toros were able to double their opposition in the hits column thanks to Jacome's seven innings of 3-run ball and a pair of scoreless innings from Cibney Bello. Jacome improved to 5-2 on the season with the quality start.
With the win the Toros extended their lead for first place in the GBL Southern Division over division rival Orange County, .619 to .577. The Toros will look to expand that lead once again on Sunday in Chico for the final game of the three game series scheduled to start at 6:05 p.m. Tucson time.
