Boston's Lovisa Selander Wins NWHL Goaltender of the Year Award

In her first professional season after a brilliant collegiate career at RPI, Lovisa Selander has earned honors as the NWHL Goaltender of the Year, as voted by a panel of members of the media.
Minnesota's Amanda Leveille, who won this award in 2018, finished second in the voting. Sam Walther of the Riveters and Brooke Wolejko of the Whale finished tied for third.
Selected by Boston 20th overall in the NWHL Draft in December of 2018, Selander played an enormous role in the Pride finishing first overall this season. Among the highlights of Selander's season so far:
Won the "triple crown" of goaltending by leading the NWHL in wins (17), save percentage (.941) and goals against average (1.71).
Her 17 wins set an NWHL record for most wins in a single season.
Selander's .941 save percentage is the best in a season in NWHL history among goalies starting at least six games.
Allowed one or no goals in eight of her 18 starts, including two shutouts.
Ended the regular season with a 130:20 shutout streak - the longest by any goaltender in the 2019-20 season.
MVP of the 2020 NWHL All-Star Game and two-time VEDA Player of the Week.
On Sunday at 2:30 at Warrior Ice Arena, Selander and the Pride host an Isobel Cup Playoffs Semifinal. Boston will face the winner of the game between Buffalo and Connecticut that takes place Friday night.
