Boston, here comes the Celtics South

September 23, 2004 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Atlanta Vision News Release

On December 18-19,the ABA Gwinnett Gwizzlies will board a Delta Airline plane and travel to Boston to play the Frenzy over a three day span. Phrased last summer right before the NBA Summer Pro League by one sportswriter as the "Celtics South", the team was formed based upon it's talent, work ethic and team play.

Gwizzlies officials state that the team and management are excited about traveling to New England to play a basketball game in the city of Boston. The team played last summer in Los Angeles and now are rearing up to go to Beantown to get two wins. The Gwizzlies hope this will develop into a rivalry like the one the Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics had in the 1980's. On January 28,2005 the Boston Frenzy will visit the Gwizzlies and Gwizzlies officials are expecting a sellout.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
