Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans announced today the signing of power forward Darryl Bootland to a new deal for the 2014-2015 Central Hockey League season. Bootland joined the Allen Americans in 2012, winning back to back Championships with the Americans.
Bootland begins his 13thyear in professional hockey this season, his third with the Allen Americans. The former eighth-round draft pick of the Colorado Avalanche played 32 games at the National Hockey League level with both the Detroit Red Wings and New York Islanders. In those 32 games, he scored one goal for a total of three points.
"I'm so excited to be back in a red sweater again," said forward Darryl Bootland. "Allen is a great community with the best fans in minor league hockey. My family loves it here so that played a huge part in us coming back for a third season in Allen. My goal is the same this year as it has been every year I've played hockey, that to raise the cup sometime in May and play hard out on the ice. We have the team and the organization to get this done. Here we go."
In two seasons for the Americans, Darryl Bootland scored 40 goals and contributed 85 points in 100 regular season games in Allen. The Bradford, Ontario, native has been a big part of the Americans winning back to back titles, netting 11 goals and 23 points in 35 post-season games.
The Americans open their sixth training camp in the CHL this October with the Americans trying to become the first team in Central Hockey League history to win three straight championships. Season Tickets are on sale NOW at www.allenamericans.com . Call (972) 912-1000 for more information.
