
Bonner Takes Honors Again

NEW YORK â Arizona Rattlers quarterback SHERDRICK BONNER, Orlando Predators defensive specialist KENNY MCENTYRE and Colorado Crush wide receiver/defensive back CHARLIE DAVIDSON have been named Offensive Players, ADT Defensive Player and Ironman of the Week, respectively, for Week 12 of the 2003 season.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bonner (6-4, 240, Cal State-Northridge), who is in his 10th season, connected on 26-of-43 passes for 358 yards, nine touchdowns and no interceptions in the Rattlers' 82-81 overtime victory over the Central Division-leading Grand Rapids Rampage (8-4) on Saturday. The former All-Arena performer led the Rattlers (7-5) by connecting on three fourth-quarter touchdown passes and a 27-yard score to FB/LB BO KELLY in overtime. This marked the first time that a team scored more than 80 points in consecutive games. Bonner tied his team record for passing touchdowns while tying the Rattlers' highest point total that was set last week. He ranks among the League's all-time leaders in attempts (3,304), completions (2,040), passing yards (25,842) and passing touchdowns (510). This marks the 12th time Bonner has earned an AFL weekly honor.
ADT DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
McEntyre (5-11, 180, Kansas State), who is in his fifth AFL season, led Orlando (8-4) on the defensive side of the ball in the Predators' 56-31 victory over the Las Vegas Gladiators (6-6) on Sunday. The former Wildcat recorded 2.0 tackles, a fumble recovery that was returned 41 yards and two interceptions â his fifth in two weeks. McEntyre, who is a two-time Defensive Player of the Year, leads the Predators in interceptions (8), total tackles (72.5) and pass breakups (13). This marks the second time McEntyre has earned an AFL weekly honor.
IRONMAN OF THE WEEK
Davidson (5-11, 195, Mississippi State), who is in his eighth AFL season, led Colorado (2-10) with his two-way performance by hauling in 11 receptions for 136 yards and three touchdowns in the Crush's 49-45 victory over the previously top-seeded Tampa Bay Storm (9-3) on Sunday. On his way to garnering Ironman of the Game honors, the former All-Arena performer added a rushing touchdown and 5.0 total tackles. The former Bulldog is second on the Crush in scoring (90) and tackles (41.0). This marks the first time Davidson has earned an AFL weekly honor.

ADT Defensive Player of the Week candidates include: Georgia's Kevin Gaines, Georgia's Jermaine Smith, Grand Rapids' Lamar Grant, Los Angeles' Cornelius Coe, Los Angeles' Damen Wheeler, and New York's William Holder.
Ironman of the Week candidates included: Chicago's Riley Kleinhesselink, Dallas' Will Pettis, Georgia's Jermaine Smith, Grand Rapids' Steve Smith, Los Angeles' J.J. Washington, New York's William Holder, Orlando's Doug Miller and San Jose's Barry Wagner.
