Bonner, Jeter Return for Fourth Season

Huntsville, AL - Two key members of the Vipers success over the past three seasons are returning for a fourth season. Ronald Bonner and Curtis Jeter, both members of the inaugural 2000 team, have been assigned to the Vipers by the af2 office for the 2003 season.

"Both guys have been very productive for this organization over the past three seasons," Vipers head coach, Kevin Guy, said. "Bonner is coming off an injury plagued season, so I know he is eager to get back out there and play. Jeter is one of those guys that has a motor that never quits. He gives you 110% every game."

Jeter has played in 37 games and recorded 48.0 tackles, 6.5 tackles-for-loss for 21 yards, 11.0 sacks for 96 yards, nine pass break ups, five fumble recoveries and eight forced fumbles. He has rushed for 36 yards on 11 carries and caught two passes for 23 yards. He ranks fourth on the Vipers all-time sack list (11.0), tied for second in fumbles recovered (5) and first in fumbles forced (8).

Bonner has played in 38 games and caught 107 passes for 1,328 yards and 22 touchdowns. He has recorded 51.5 tackles, three interceptions and 12 pass break ups. He ranks second on the Vipers all-time list in receptions (107), second in receiving yards (1,328), tied for second in receiving touchdowns (22), fourth in yards per reception and second in all-purpose yards (1,402).

The Vipers were also assigned center Stephan Stursberg (6-4, 315). He has played professionally in the German American Football League last season.

The Vipers report for camp on March 19 and open the season at Florida on April 5. The home opener is set for April 11 against the Quad City Steamwheelers at 7:30.
