Dayton, OH - The Dayton Bombers have agreed to terms with defenseman Jamie Dowhayko, head coach Bill McDonald announced today. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Dowhayko, a 25-year-old native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, joins the Bombers after spending the 2007-08 season with Deggendorf EC in Germany. The defenseman had 24 points (5g,19a) in a career-high 50 games.

"I've had great experiences in college and Europe," Dowhayko said, "and I'm looking forward to bringing everything I've learned to Dayton to help the Bombers win."

Prior to his professional career, Dowhayko played three seasons at the University of Manitoba where he was a three-time recipient of the Mike Ridley Award, recognizing superior athleticism and academics.

"Jamie was a highly sought after recruit, so we're glad to have him here in Dayton," McDonald said.

The 6-foot, 192-pound Dowhayko spent the 2003-04 season with the Selkirk Steelers of the MJHL and was named a First-Team All-Star with the Steelers that year.
