Bombers Overcome 3-0 Deficit to Win 11-4

HUNTINGBURG, Ind. - The Dubois County Bombers scored 11 runs in innings three through six as they overcame a three-run first inning from the Danville Dans in an 11-4 victory Sunday night at League Stadium.

Spencer Sapp (3-2) earned the win, lasted seven innings and allowed four runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five.

Kurt Kudrecki and Nelson Marchan each tossed a scoreless inning to close out the Dans.

Tom Helwich (1-5) took the loss for Danville, surrendering all eleven runs - only six of which were earned - in five and two-thirds innings. He allowed 17 hits and one walk.

Everyone in the Bombers' lineup recorded at least one hit.

After Danville jumped out to a 3-0 lead, Dubois County tied it in the third and went ahead with four-run fourth.

The Bombers added one in the fifth and three in the sixth before the Dans' seventh inning run capped the scoring.

The Bombers host the Springfield Sliders Monday, August 6, at 7:15 p.m. It's Fan Appreciation Night at League Stadium. General admission tickets cost one dollar, and reserved seats are only two dollars.

Then Terre Haute comes to town for the Western Divisional playoff game Tuesday, August 7. Country artist Kirby Stailey will be performing before and during the game.
